We are pleased to announce that the BISSELL Pet Foundation has granted us $9,050 for our Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program! With this partnership, we hope to be able to spay and neuter over 350 cats and dogs in the Philadelphia community.

As an open admission shelter committed to serving the homeless animals of Philadelphia, one of the best things we can do is break the cycle and stop pets from ending up unwanted or homeless in the first place. The more we urge our community to spay and neuter their pets, and make it financially feasible, the fewer stray animals and pets with undesirable behaviors we will need to rehabilitate. Additionally, spaying and neutering can reduce unwanted behavior, such as aggressiveness, spraying, and menstruation, which causes pet owners to surrender the animals. The funds from the BISSELL Pet Foundation go directly to supporting our Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program so that more pet owners can alter their animals, preventing the population of unwanted pets from rising and, in some cases, preventing animals from entering the shelter.

We have been providing our Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program for over 25 years and with the support of the BISSELL Pet Foundation, we'll serve Philadelphia for years to come!
