#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity happening today May 5, 2020, as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world.
Morris Animal Refuge is asking for your support as part of #GivingTuesdayNow. Through the kindness and generosity of our community, we have been able to place all of the animals in permanent or temporary homes. Now, we are asking for your help to make sure that we have the resources needed to return to typical operations as soon as it is safe to do so.
Our advisory board, the 1874 Society, has come together to create a matching gift for this campaign. So far, they have pulled together $3,000 of matching funds! That means every donation up to $3,000 will have double the impact on the lives of the animals in Morris' care.
At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together across the globe. Generosity gives everyone the power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on. It’s a day for everyone around the world to stand together and give back in all ways, no matter who or where we are.
