To our supporters,

Like many of you, we are concerned about the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and now that there are confirmed cases in Philadelphia, we want to make sure we are taking the necessary precautions.

At Morris Animal Refuge we are always hygiene conscious to prevent spread of disease and keep our animals healthy. During this outbreak we will have additional hand sanitizer throughout the shelter for our staff, volunteers, and those visiting the shelter to use. We will also be following the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) guidelines on how to prevent the spread of the virus. We will have information about hand washing and sanitation around the shelter. We have also encouraged staff members who are sick to stay home until they are well. We will be taking extra precautions by putting a hold on new volunteer orientations to minimize traffic at the shelter until the outbreak is more under control.

We will continue to stay vigilant and make decisions as we get more information about the outbreak. Our top priority is keeping our animals, staff, and supporters healthy and happy. We appreciate your support and will keep you updated with any major precautionary measures we plan to take.

Stay healthy and safe!

How You Can Help!

During this outbreak, we need additional support to make sure our animals, staff, volunteers, and other Morris supporters stay safe. Here are a few ways you can help!

  • Purchase an item off of our Amazon Wish List! We've put the essentials that we will need to help prevent disease spread at the top, but we can use any of the supplies listed.
  • Sign up to be a foster! If the outbreak becomes a major issue in Philadelphia, we will need fosters to help care for the animals so we are able to allow our staff to self-quarantine.
  • Donate! Monetary donations allow us to buy supplies, pay staff, and get additional care for the animals with short notice.
