My Pets: Abigail is a seven-year old Tabby who my partner and I adopted from foster care when she was a kitten. She’s shy at first, but once she warms up to you, she’s very loving and quite needy (and knead-y)! She loves taking naps in the sun after extended play sessions with her favorite feather teaser toy. She also has a sweet tooth, so she’ll daintily lick ice cream or yogurt from your fingers and end up getting most of it on her nose, despite her pretensions of elegance.

Why I Love Morris: In my first couple weeks at Morris, I had already seen dozens of animals get adopted by loving families—the impact of the organization’s work is so tangible. It’s great to get to know all the animals on a personal level, it’s moving to see the very start of the unique relationships that pets and their owners build together, and it’s humbling to work among a talented and kind staff who are all working tirelessly to improve the lives of human and non-human animals alike in our community!
